Nova has a little reunion with his old New Warriors teammates Justice and Firestar where he talks about the current state of his life. He’s jealous of his brother who is now a member of Nova Corps and has direct communication with the Worldmind.

And apparently, Worldmind likes Robbie more. Richard also tells Firestar and Justice that he has reservations about the new Nova Corps team, and he’s upset that Worldmind is drafting new members without consulting Richard. In other words, Rich is now just one Nova among many–not the special one.
The trio have a brief adventure fighting Dragon Man during which Rich realizes how well they work together, and also during which Rich cannot access Worldmind.
Then, at the end of the issue, Ego the Living Planet appears in the sky.
I’m reading these issues for the first time so I honestly have no idea where this is going. It looks like Abnett and Lanning are setting us up for a new New Warriors (especially based on the cover), but their concept for this book has been cosmic–not Earthbound. I’m anxious for the next issue to see what happens. Very well done–this book continues to be a surprising gem.
