For the second of this series of one-shots, we get Jean Grey’s origin. We don’t learn a lot here, it’s mostly a canonic re-telling, but reading this back-to-back with Colossus’ origin in issue #1, I noticed that the death of someone close was the trigger for both characters’ mutant abilities. In Jean’s case, her friend is killed in a car crash.
We also see her early days with Professor X, where he began putting blocks/limitations on her powers because she could not control them.
It’s well done and looks BEAUTIFUL.
