Iron Man #21-22, Juggernaut: The Eighth Day, Peter Parker Spider-Man #11, Thor #17: Eighth Day (1999)

While doing some routine archaeology, Tony Stark unleashes the ancient mystic power of Cyttorak, for whom Juggernaut is the totem. Turns out, Juggernaut one of the “Exemplars”–beings that personify various ancient magical beings.

These Exemplars figure prominently in this story, but…I don’t really care that much about them.

There’s fights against Juggernaut (and other Exemplars), Asgardian magic, and all kinds of things that don’t make a lot of sense unless you shut your brain off and just enjoy the ride.

Like, for example, the Exemplars were created by Ancient beings just to serve as avatars so they could all fight and prove who was toughest.

In the end, Juggernaut is toughest.
