Silver Surfer broke out of the Earth barrier last issue, and now he returns to Zenn-La to his forever lover, Shalla-Bal, who is now Empress of the planet.
After fighting off a Skrull incursion, he proposes to her and she…Says no. For twenty years we’ve been reading about his pining for her, and in less than one issue it all goes away.
It ends with him saying goodbye to his old home and claiming space as his new one.
I have to say, for writer Steve Englehart, that’s a pretty badass move. Now he can do whatever he wants with the character.
