AVENGERS #329-331 (1991): Spider-Man, Rage, Sandman join; 1st Tetrarchs of Entropy

The Avengers become U.N.-sanctioned. For some reason, this pushes them to allow Sandman to join as a “reserve substitute.”

That reporter is right. Sandman IS a criminal! Although Cap is an apologist.

Sandman must have naked pictures of Steve Rogers or something. It’s bizarre that this happened.

Also, Spidey and Rage become Reserve Substitutes, along with a few others.  Rage and Sandman are on “probation,” as a nod to his extensive criminal past.

The core lineup is: Captain America as leader, with She-Hulk, Thor, Sersi, Vision, Quasar, and Black Widow.  Interesting team.

After spending almost all of #329 on the new lineup, we get a very silly and stupid battle against The Tetrarchs of Entropy.

Basically extradimensional demons with not one but two S.A.T. words in their team name.

They’ve come for The Avengers.

And they stick Sersi in a clear prison–because they’re just like everyone else (see the “heroes in clear tubes” tag below).
