It seems appropriate that, in the middle of an intricate storyline, JMS and JR Jr. drop everything and do an issue about what Spider-Man did during the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
Most Americans who were alive on that day remember exactly what they were doing. Those of us who lived in D.C., New York, or Pennsylvania have especially vivid memories.
Nearly all of us–and much of the world–dropped everything when the second plane hit. The world stopped. Our personal drama stopped.
It made sense that the storyline in Amazing Spider-Man would stop, too.
There were other comic book tributes to that day. But this one was the best.
