In honor of Superman Day, I’m noting some of his best appearances in Marvel Comics. Note that this does not include amalgams or analogs (like Squadron Supreme’s Hyperion). I’m talking actual appearances of Clark Kent. Note that Clark, not Superman, tends to be the crossing over character–likely to avoid being sued.
5. Power Pack #29 (1987)

Clark interrupts the broadcast of “Goo Gams.”

4. Battle of the Century: Superman vs Spider-Man (1976).
I know, I know. This shouldn’t count. It’s an official crossover. But when it came out, it was what we all had wanted for years. See the full post here.
3. Avengers #325 and #327 (1990)
First, Captain America notes how silly it is that a man could simply put on glasses and think that this protects his secret identity…

This isn’t an appearance of Superman. But a couple issues later, Clark Kent himself appears.

Clark Kent witness the transformation of Ghost Rider and is tempted to change into costume. But he doesn’t.
And finally…
1. Captain America #260 (1981).

The number one cameo because it’s not just Clark–it’s the entire flippin’ Daily Planet bullpen!
