Last issue ended with a ship full of 1970s versions of major heroes attacking the two major Avengers teams.
During the fight, we see that each group of heroes thinks the other are skrulls.

Lots of big fighting ensues, with dinosaurs because they’re all in the Savage Land.
I’m a Bendis fan (I know not everyone is), so I appreciate a lot of the details provided throughout the battle, like ’70s Power Man (aka modern Luke Cage) speaking only in stilted black slang, and Tony’s armor gets infected with a virus and he has to build a new suit out in the jungle, reminiscent of his first appearance so many years ago. Lots to like here.

After the fight, we see that some of the ’70s heroes are real–presumably having been kidnapped many years ago. Like Mockingbird.

Mockingbird and Hawkeye’s relationship, which devolved during the West Coast Avengers series and ended with Clint being unable to accept her having been raped, gets a second chance. Unless she’s a skrull. Which of course she is.
There’s also an elaborate misdirection that the ’70s Cap is actually real because, you know, nobody wants to believe Steve Rogers is really dead.
The story ends with a skrull armada arriving in Manhattan.
Again, lots to like here.
