This issue starts in a really weird way.
Apparently, the Fantastic Four have time to write their own comic books. Torch gets mad because Reed didn’t consult him on the latest issue.
It seems like every issue of Strange Tales has Johnny acting pretty bratty and the rest of his “family” being pretty unsympathetic and dickish.
Pouting, his aquarium gives him the idea to fight Sub Mariner.
That’s the set up.
Then it’s fighting.
I have a problem with the above scene. If Namor hits Johnny “with the force of a pile-driver,” he should have knocked his head clean off. After knocking him out, Sub Mariner ties Johnny to a fish.
But he gets free and it’s round two, which basically ends in a stalemate.
It’s a pretty pointless story overall and the fight isn’t very well thought out. Except that Namor has a new (and thankfully forgotten) power set of being able to imitated fish abilities.
