X-Men Legacy #220-224 (2009): Salvage

Danger, the robotic embodiment of the danger room, is inadvertently freed from prison and plans her revenge against the X-Men.  She starts with Rogue, who is estranged from the X-Men and whose fractured psyche is still in a fragile place, and she finds herself talking to the vestiges of people whose powers she absorbed through the years, which live on in Rogue’s own mind.

Since Danger has the ability to create living holograms of just about anything, we get to see appearances by “Nimrod” and “the Marauders” and others.

When Professor X and Gambit arrive to help, Charles realizes that Danger’s goal is not to kill but to breed.

The upshot is that all the fantasy-threats combine with Professor X’s own attempts to heal Rogue’s psyche and leave her with the ability to do this…

…Without absorbing Gambit’s psyche.

Danger ends up as an ally not an enemy.  Not clear whether that means she’ll be joining the team.
