
See, here’s the problem with these major events: Most of the tie-in books are fine, or maybe even slightly better than average, but there’s so dang many of them that by the time you get to the good ones, you’re already sick of reading about the same story over-and-over.

Like so many of the tie-in books, this one takes place during the invasion of Manhattan. Marvel’s two popular teen-teams meet up and join forces for the second time to fight skrulls.
Here’s the other problem with events: Both of these teams work best when they’re relating to each other. The characters have well-defined and unique personalities–much more so than many other heroes–that work best in quiet moments rather than big “popcorn flick” action stories.
And really these only existed to keep Young Avengers in circulation until Allan Heinberg could return for a proper follow-up.
Heinberg is def the best YA writer
