This miniseries shows what happened after Reed Richard’s got taken down by skrulls (one of who was disguised as his wife) in Secret Invasion #1, so that the aliens could open a portal to the Negative Zone.
We get the (unnecessary) backstory of how the skrulls kidnapped Sue in the first place, followed by Franklin, Valeria, Ben and Johnny’s adventures in the top floors of the Baxter Building, which has been shunted into the Negative Zone.
For some reason, this makes Johnny think of all his past loves.
Lyja Laserfist the skrull is there with them, and she can’t decide whether to fight Johnny or f– him…
We learn, though, that she was aware of the skrull invasion and she blew the Baxter Building into the Negative Zone to save Johnny’s life–so that he wouldn’t be killed by skrulls.
Lots of fighting of Zone creepies and stuff like that before Franklin Richards (a child) proves he’s smarter than all of them and tells them to head to the Negative Zone prison and see if there’s someone there who can help them.
He’s all grown up now. And on the cover of #3, he’s looking cool.
They head to the Nega-Prison, persuade Mad Thinker to help, and he does. He fixes the portal machine and gets everyone back to Earth 616.
This mini is a pointless diversion.
