Seems like 2006 was the year of the wedding at Marvel. She-Hulk wed John Jameson. Storm and Black Panther had a royal wedding. Justice and Firestar tied the knot. Reed and Sue celebrated their 40th anniversary. And, in this issue, Jessica Jones says “yes.”

But like most (all?) Brian Michael Bendis joints, this isn’t a straightforward story. Via flashbacks, we see White Widow Yelena Belova being visited in the hospital by representatives from AIM and Hydra offered the opportunity to turn into a super adaptoid—after being horribly injured during the first New Avengers story.
She takes the power up, and then attacks The Avengers.
Belova is a badass adaptoid.
But she is no match for Tony Stark’s army of Iron Man suits. Once bested, she self-destructs.
Once that’s over, Stan Lee presides over the wedding.
I mean, that’s definitely Stan.
Several other cameos, including the Mayor of New York.
