This post covers the done-in-one stories across these five issues. None of the stories are more than 8 pages so not much to say here.
In #8, Wolverine helps Cyclops decide to have a heart-to-heart with his brother about their father, Corsair. Meh. Then for issue #9, there’s an alternate reality Hulk-as-Thor. More like a brief “What If?” story. Number 10 has Deadpool in a story called, “Fun with Ninjas.” It’s not fun.
Then the character you’ve all been waiting for…Stingray! Not. But at least he takes on Giganto the Whale. Nice to see him again.
He eats Stingray and chokes on him, then spits him out. It’s basically the Jonah story. But it has Lee Weeks art, so it’s the most redeemable of the lot.
Finally, Man-Thing gets investigated by SHIELD.
Overall, these are anthology stories–never very good. For what they are, they’re fine.
Many of the creative names attached to these stories are not familiar to me and, frankly, at least one appears to be made up. I only tagged the ones who have done other work.
