JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA VOL. 1 #89-90 (1971)

#89 almost feels like a Steve Gerber comic. (Imagine how awesome it would have been if he’d written Justice League!) Mike Friedrich writes an offbeat tale about a creative writer (named “Harlequin Ellis”) who fantasizes about Black Canary, and in the last panel, Friedrich appears to tell the reader what just happened. Very odd, very late 1960s.

Then, in #90, Atom is fired by Green Lantern’s slingshot, much like Ant Man often rides Hawkeye’s arrows.
