The first issue of this series introduced Eric O’Grady, who stole a new Ant-Man prototype suit from Hank Pym while serving on a SHIELD helicarrier. At the end of the issue, he met a woman for a date, who he had saved from being mugged.
She’s now a regular. He tells her his full story, which we learn along with her via flashbacks that include how he betrayed SHIELD and contributed to a Helicarrier crash (albeit while fighting off a super-villain invasion), and lots of examples of him using the Ant-Man suit to spy on women while they bathe. Gross.

He tells of how he learned to use the suit and gained skills, while Hank Pym gave a second suit to a SHIELD agent to hunt O’Grady down.

While escaping that agent, O’Grady’s boot jets accidentally scarred his face–making his hunt personal now.

Ant-Man manages to escape SHIELD.
At the end of issue #6, we’re “caught up” in that the flashbacks are over and we’re in the present time. Ant-Man sneaks into a woman’s purse because she has a “nice rack” and no wedding ring, and she happens to be Carol Danvers.
What a coincidence.
Okay, the first issue had a lot of potential. These issues get a little tiresome, but overall they’re a good read. It feels like the overarching plot–SHIELD hunting down the main character–isn’t enough for a sustained through-line. Also, I get that Robert Kirkman’s point here was to create a hero who is a bad person but … It’s hard to read about a little pervert who constantly objectifies and spies on women. Like, at one point he even tries to have sex on the grave of his recently killed best friend.

He’s just gross to the point that I don’t want to read about him.
