Irredeemable Ant-Man #11-12 (2007): Series ends

Oh my God is this a bad ending.  Ant-Man, apparently, got knocked into a coma as a result of his participation in World War Hulk, which enabled SHIELD to find him, capture him, and debrief/torture him.

His buddy Black Fox sneaks on board the Helicarrier to help him.

Yes, it’s that easy to scale the face of a Helicarrier.  SHIELD security is absolutely terrible.

Once captured, he expresses remorse about everything that’s happened in the last 11 issues.

But then, after a confusing cesspool of interactions, Eric O’Grady escapes SHIELD with his suit and has not changed one iota.

The final panel of the series has him avoiding being a hero once again.  Twelve issues, zero character growth.  I mean, I guess the title was honest–he is apparently irredeemable.
