Iron Man hates irony.
Tony Stark created Iron Man, in part, to support his own failing heart. Marvel has long since gotten away from that problem, but now his armor is literally killing him.
Tony is teleported into the future where a cult worships his memory. When the adventure is over, the time jumps make him forget the whole thing. So, issue #280 is basically irrelevant to everything.
