At the end of the last arc, Mister Fear literally drove Matt’s (ex?) wife Milla crazy and now she’s in a mental institution and Matt is alternating between beating up criminals more than he has to and wallowing in depression.
Luke Cage hires Nelson and Murdock to defend a guy named Ben Donovan who has been accused of cutting off the heads of three children. Yes. Very gruesome. Oh, I don’t think I mentioned: Greg Rucka is the co-writer for this one.
Luke thinks Donovan is innocent. And of course he is. It ends up being an FBI frame-up, and it’s what Matt needed to shake off his doldrums.
Dakota North gets shot along the way.
That’s pretty much it. I mean, of course it’s twisty and densely plotted. It’s a solid read. It’s what you’d expect from this team.
