This issue is a quiet one, and it’s good to have a little check in with Sharon Carter. It also serves to remind us of specific plot points that will matter in the months to come, where Steve Rogers will be brought back.
Sharon is haunted by her own (albeit involuntary) assassination of Captain America. Much of the issue involves Sharon visiting her senile aunt Peggy (Cap’s love interest during WW2) and generally reminiscing until Falcon shows up for a brief conversation. She tells him that she was pregnant with Steve’s child,
Falcon is hunting William Burnside, the 1950s Captain America, who is now working in league with Red Skull. But while Sam visits with Sharon, Burnside is back at Peggy Carter’s nursing home looking for information about Steve Rogers.

At this point, it’s clear that Red Skull and Arnim Zola stole a Carter/Rogers fetus from Sharon’s belly while she was pregnant. I’m sure I’m not spoiling anything by saying that that will be the key to Steve Rogers’ return.
