CABLE #78-84 (2000)

This is annoying. Issue #78 has a bunch of “wrap up” stuff, including Ozytmandias saying that the future is no longer written.

The issue but with Cable being literally turned inside out by the Technovirus.

Then issue #79 takes place six months later, offering no explanation of how he got turned right-side out again, and begins a story about three witches offering visions of Cable’s future.

So in #78, it looked like we could FINALLY get out of the “Cable fights to stop a terrible future” run that this book has occupied since it started, but…Nope.

Instead, we get novelist Robert Weinberg’s infamously bad run on Cable, full of alternate futures and possible pasts and junk. Junk. Junk. Junk.

This first segment is horrible confusing. I’m not going to pretend to have understood it–or even read it carefully.

It ends with a prelude to the next terrible arc I’ll be forced to read through, which also involves an alternate reality and also Rachel Summers.

Ugh.
