This issue focuses almost entirely on Jessica Drew telling Captain America why she’s a double-agent. But before their conversation, they return to Avengers tower and the Daily Bugle staff watch the quinjet arrive…

Yes, Frank Cho gratuitously added a busty advertisement for his creator-owned Liberty Meadows strip.

As she explains herself, Spider-Woman reminds us of her origin as a Hydra operative before Nick Fury turned her. But then we learn, finally, how she got her powers back after “dying” at the end of her first solo book. Turns out, Hydra did it surgically, and Nick Fury told her to go along with it, so that she could be a double-agent for SHIELD.
Captain America distrusts her, but Nick Fury returns and urges him to keep her on the team because they need an “inside person” to undermine Hydra.
And so Cap and Jessica continue to talk it out, with Steve trying to decide if he can trust her. Turns out, the whole team was listening to this story and they all believe her. So now they’re all in on the secret that she’s pretending to be a Hydra agent. With all that settled, Tony Stark decides it’s time for a press conference to share the new Avengers lineup with the world.
As with most of Brian Michael Bendis’ work during this period, it’s a great read. And as with most Frank Cho joints, there’s a lot of nice boobies.
