Apocalypse is back in the pages of X-Men, so sadly that means X-adjacent titles get infected.

These issues provide some backstory. Turns out, Cable has a long, circular history with Apocalypse: Cable infected Apocalypse with the same virus that Apocalypse then, in turn, gave to Cable as an infant. It’s time travel, don’t ask.
Along the way they try to stop Apocalypse from returning but fail. Sadly.

I think the main thing I dislike about all Apocalypse stories is that they’re all the same, and they all sprawl across multiple titles and take too long to tell.
We also see a lot of Domino, who gets involved with Cable, and we start getting lots of tie-ins to other books like Citizen V which, not surprisingly, was also written by Fabian Nicieza. The last few pages of this (thankfully) short arc set up the next story, as GW Bridge and Domino are hired to travel to Rumekistan, where Cable and Deadpool appear to be involved in some kind of revolution.
