And now, the first truly great issue of What If? There have been good ones. Even really good ones. But this one is great. What If Conan the Barbarian Walked the Earth Today?
The full Marvel Conan team creates the story so many of us wanted to see. I don’t cover it on this site, but 1970s Marvel Conan comics were really great.
And it’s not even a What If?! At least, that’s what I think. Conan gets hit by a magic spell that teleports him to 1970s Earth, does a bunch of stuff, then goes back to his own time.
What kind of stuff does he do?
He dresses up like a pimp. He beats people up.
He upsets old ladies.
He beats more people up.
And eventually, he goes back home.
There’s a sequel to this issue, What If? #39, where he returns and fights Thor. It’s also a great issue.
