Here’s a series of posts on the evolution of my favorite character, M.O.D.O.K. (or MODOK to his friends). And what an evolution it is! I don’t think there have been any Marvel villains who have inspired more completely insane spin-off variants than ol’ MODOK.
Let’s start with his first appearance in 1967.
MODOK started in the pages of Tales of Suspense issue #94, in which the evil A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) steal Captain America’s shield and try to break it apart to analyze it. The AIM scientists keep griping about their boss, some dude named MODOK.
And in the end, he lay dying. But he was too cool to die. He’d be back, and back, and back.
And this series will follow him!
