Short version: It takes Spider-Man three issues to defeat Beetle and this miniseries has nothing to do with Doctor Doom.
Longer version: As revenge for his latest failure, Beetle sets up Spider-Man for murder-via-faulty-webbing (hence the title) but Spidey figures it out in the end.
Review: Meh. This is the “serious Spider-Man” phase, where he’s not wisecracking. Don’t like that as much. The positives: I like a three-issue mystery. We all know Spider-Man didn’t really kill a hoodlum, even by mistake, but it takes all three issues before Beetle is revealed as the villain and his plan is made clear. And Scott Kolins is a wonderful artist.
