This is yet-another attempt to give Rogue a solo series—the third attempt in 10 years. This one will last a little longer than the others but…It’s not much better.
In this first arc, Rogue intentionally absorbs a little girl’s memories just so she can see what living in a normal family is like. That’s borderline evil, and quite inconsistent with Rogue’s change of personality—and overwhelming regret and self-hatred–after having permanently absorbed Carol Danvers’ personality way back in Avengers Annual #10.
Anyway, from there she goes with a strike team to her home-town in Mississippi where a mutant is out of control and gets involved with some folks claiming to be her relatives. They turn out to be dream constructs created in part due to Rogue’s longing for family.
I suppose this could have been good but…It’s not. And Rogue and Gambit’s constant bickering doesn’t help matters any.
