Luna has been living in Wundergore Mountain, being seen to by Bova, when they are attacked by the New Men.
They’ve been sent by Exodus and the Acolytes. Because it’s impossible to escape that horrible storyline, even if you run away from the X-books and into your own series.
Cortez is trying to kill Luna in the name of mutant supermacy, and Quicksilver races to the scene to help.
Quicksilver successfully redirects Cortez’s shot, so that he instead hits the Kleinstocks (his fellow Acolytes).
But then he kills one of the leaders of the Knights of Wundagore.
And so have the premise: Quicksilver becomes the leader of the Knights of Wundagore in their war to defend themselves against Exodus.
There will be other threats, too.
I’m not a fan of High Ev’s anthropomorphic animal people, so I’m pretty sure I won’t love this series.
