Creator: Steve Englehart (J Dudley Harkness)

Steve Englehart was a writer who took risks, which meant he wrote some of the most beloved and reviled storylines in comic history.  For The Avengers he wrote the Celestial Madonna and Serpent Crown storylines and married Scarlet Witch and Vision.  He transformed Patsy Walker from a romance character into Hellcat.  He created multiple Captain Americas.  He turned Beast blue.  He killed the Ancient One (and the entire Marvel Universe) and then had “God” rebirth it, and then made it all a dream (after Stan Lee got upset).  He was part of the team behind the Rutland Parade DC/Marvel “crossovers.”  He wrote the second-best Silver Surfer cosmic stories of all time.  He created the West Coast Avengers.  For Epic, he was the writer of the first published work by Todd MacFarlane.  He created Shang Chi, Star-Lord, Mantis, Black Mariah, Shroud, MODAM, Nomad, Nitro, and Chemistro.

And on top of all that, for other publishers, he created the Ultraverse, X-O Manowar, and wrote major Batman, Green Lantern, and JLA stories.
