SHE-HULK #4 (2004)

Look!  It’s Spider-Man.  And the never-before-seen Spider Signal!

I love when Marvel has these sly references to DC. I also am a huge fan of how Dan Slott writes Spider-Man. I’m looking forward to beginning his legendary, super-long run on Amazing Spider-Man.

In this issue, She-Hulk helps Spidey sue J. Jonah Jameson for libel.  And since both JJJ and Spidey will be in the same courtroom at the same time, Scorpion decides to attack—with the help of some spider-slayer robots.

The courtroom drama continues in parallel.  And as part of it, Spider-Man’s attorneys (i.e., She-Hulk’s law firm) decide to join Peter Parker in the lawsuit for the book he published on Spider-Man and the photos he contributed to the Daily Bugle!

In the end, JJJ has to chose between a $300 milllion dollar judgement and dressing like a chicken.  He opts for humiliation.

During the trial, we’re introduced to a new character, Whiz Kid.

Another genuinely funny home-run for this series and one of Dan Slott’s best.
