Not bad! I’ve always been able to buy the Hulk more as a monster, than as a superhero. In his own series, written by guys like Roy Thomas and Len Wein, the Hulk comes across like a misunderstood do-gooder, but whenever he shows up in the Fantastic Four to duke it out with the Thing, he is most DEFINITELY a villain, and there is simply no doubt about it! Considering the Hulk’s overall circumstances, this interpretation DOES seem like the logical approach. As a Defender, written by guys like, again, Thomas, Steve Gerber, and the miserably unbearable David Anthony Kraft, the Hulk again comes across like a misunderstood do-gooder, which is the illogical approach. Come to think of it, that was the ‘Lou Ferrigno’ approach to the character. It’s illogical, and all wrong. The “Incredible ” Hulk is a savage, nearly-mindless monster, who can be, at times, manipulated by sharp cookies like Dr. Strange, but he is mostly a savage monster, and that’s the approach which works the best, and makes the most sense, at least to this Marvelite. Excelsior!
