This is a really cool idea. Untold Tales of Spider-Man is dedicated to filling in gaps between classic Stan Lee issues of Spider-Man. So Untold’s 1997 annual creates a new villain named Sundown and gives us classic Spidey taking him down.
Years later, he’s released from prison and Spider-Man tackles him again in the Amazing annual.
Tom Lyle does the art on both, and Busiek writes Untold/gets story credit for Amazing.
Note: The Untold annual has a ton of guest stars and I’m too lazy to tag them all (they’re just doing cameos), and Sundown–the villain–is never seen again. So I just tagged Spider-Man here.
Also in the tradition of the Lee/Ditko annuals, there’s a bunch of pin-ups featuring villains from the Untold series. There’s also a Fred Hembeck back up story.
