Uncanny X-Men at the State Fair of Texas #1 (1983)

This could/could not be canon. The X-Men trace a new mutant to Texas, where they promote various events at the State Fair.

Ultimately, they find the mutant, who is a centaur. The mutant never appears again after declining invitations to join up with both Professor X and Magneto.

The issue was given away in a Dallas newspaper, and concluded with a bunch of games (word finds, scrambles, etc,), as well as a special Bullpen Bulletin talking about how they distributed the issue.

I note that this may have been Jim Salicrup’s first published work for Marvel.

  1. It’s too bad the X-Men failed to recruit that centaur-fellow. It would have been very interesting to see his interactions with the Angel! Maybe Storm should have laid on the schmooze!
