SPIDER-MAN #26 (1992)

A hologram cover!  A gatefold poster! It’s the beginning of the end of content-based comics!

As far as 30th anniversary issues go, it’s a parallel of Spider-Man’s origin but this time the focal character is the nephew of the burglar who killed Uncle Ben. He starts the issue heading down a life of crime, but decides instead to mend his ways–giving a purse he snatched back to Spider-Man, voluntarily.

Meh.

There’s also some shenanigans with Sunset “Madame Menace” Bain.

There’s also a cute-but-stupid Mary Jane back-up story where Mary Jane pillow-fights and tickles Peter Parker, also written by DeFalco but with Mark Bagley on art.

And he mansplains his spider senses.
