Tombstone and Robbie Robertson are lost in Appalachia. Spider-Man goes a-searchin’, and finds some back-woods hillbillies reminiscent of the movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and they’ve got a big strong guy named Banjo. (Robbie and Tombstone are actually with some Amish, and not the weirdoes.)
Also, Thomas Fireheart (aka The Puma) buys the Daily Bugle.
All of this feels like stalling and heavy plotwork, with nothing really “happening” in the issue. It’s also kind of offensive. This is the second time Gerry Conway has written a really culturally insensitive script during his return to Spider-Man.
