Quasimodo, a computer-being who usually fights Hulk, teams up with the Dire Wraiths, because he wants to occupy ROM’s robotic body. ROM wants to be human and stop being a Spaceknight. So, when Quasimodo offers to clone ROM’s remaining cells, which are embedded in his armor, and grow him a new body, it seems like a match made in heaven.
But, in a gift of the Magi style turn of events, human love interest Brandy Clark is working on a way to turn herself permanently into a Spaceknight. She’s then taken over by a villain who forces her to kill ROM, but ROM is actually Quasi, while the real ROM’s cloned body is failing and rotting. Eventually, Gremlin, another Hulk villain, saves him.
Then he and Starshine fight the Soviet Super Soldiers for reasons that really didn’t make sense to me. But it was fun seeing the fights. Then they team up and fight a whole bunch of Wraiths who are plaguing Russia.
At the end, the Super Soldiers decide they like Gremlin and ask him to join their team.
