What a difference an artist makes. Chris Priest is still writing for this issue, but “Graham and Geiger” have the art credit and it’s…Not good. I mean, it’s almost self-consciously bad using a sound effect like “BOING.”
Billy Graham used to draw Luke Cage’s solo book, and he’s serviceable, but Steve Geiger has a schizophrenic career being best known as an artist for Marvel’s 1980s kids’ line, Star Comics, as well as the porn-oriented Penthouse Comix.
The story is about a guy trying to force Luke and Danny into an exclusive corporate comic. It’s adequate, but not up to Owsley’s usual level of quality.
