I do like Sal Buscema’s Spider-Man. He’s still lithe and wiry, but the lean musculature works well on the character. I wonder if the above panels were the inspiration for the classic, “When the Commuter Cometh,” issue of Amazing Spider-Man? (#267.)
This story is titled, “The Vulture is a Bird of Prey,” and the villiain is…Vulture.
It’s also Hitman, a new character who doesn’t really last and is basically a poor-man’s Punisher.
The two villains fight each other, with Spider-Man in the middle, to gain power in the underworld. No, it’s not the best story ever, but it’s fine and enjoyable.
