Al Milgrom leaves the book in the hands of two substitute creators. Peter David will come aboard soon and write the Hell out of this book, but these two fill-ins are…Meh. They do exactly what fill-ins are supposed to do: Keep the seat without changing the table. We get a Blacklash fight. Having Blacklash versus Spider-Man is odd—a villain whose sole power is tensile reach against a guy who has been mastering tensile skills for decades.
Killer Shrike is the villain in #102, and he’s also just not a terribly interesting guy.
Excellent covers, though.
Cary Burkett wrote both issues, with art by Juan Alacantara and then Larry Lieber (wow! blast from the past!).
