Shang Chi turned his back on MI-6, and now they set their sights on him, sending their new super-agent, Zaran, after him. Mike Zeck’s art is very different from Paul Gulacy–Zeck emphasizes more body-builder type musculature and straightforward layouts, but he’s also extremely talented. He’s probably my favorite guy to draw Captain America and Punisher in the ’80s.
Also in these issues, Fu Manchu is resurrected and sends leopard-skinned soldiers to kill Chi. And then announces his masterplan, which involves placing electrodes into secret agents across the globe to turn them into his own assassins.
The plan fails. And Fu Manchu seems to die in the end.
He’s already “died” in space once. Frankly, this book is over. The latest issues are just re-treading old ground.
