Jack was almost done working with Stan when they did #101. It’s pretty much a throw-away, but it’s the first reference in the Fantastic Four to The Maggia, a fictional version of The Mafia that was created, rumor has it, to avoid referring to The Mafia, who were the major distributors of comics at the time. There’s no proof of this, but there are definite links between comics and organized crime.
Of course, it’s no clear why replacing an “F” with a “GG” solves the problem.
In the end, the FF’s doorman was the guilty party.
