Elektra #25-27 (2003): Power Play

Elektra gets involved in politics. Or, at least, in a political hit. An exiled senator from Djanda–a fictional African nation–hires her to kill the dictator who deposed the country’s rightful democratic government.

She succeeds, but in the process learns that her employer is just as bad as her target. So, after killing the dictator, she kills the senator.

This is a solid adventure story. It’s a bit of a stretch to say that Elektra can defeat an entire national army but…It is Elektra, after all. And it is her comic.

I continue to be surprised by the quality of the Rodi/Chen run on this book. And of course I continue to enjoy the Bill Sienkiewicz covers.
