DEADLY HANDS OF KUNG FU #2-6 (1974)

More black-and-white comic stories padded by features about kung fu movies, culture, etc. I’m bundling them because they’re not bad but they don’t matter. The art continues to be the biggest selling point by the likes of Alan Weiss, Jim Starlin, Paul Gulacy, etc.

It’s usually two Shang Chi stories or one Chi and one Sons of the Tiger.

Chi fights a monkey in #4.

The magazine feels rather unfocused, but I suppose there were people who enjoyed reading bios of Bruce Lee, movie reviews, and comic stories in the same place. It felt more like a fanzine.

Marvel seemed to recognize that their magazine needed to find an audience when they ran a poll, above, in issue #4 to help them design future content.
