Marvel really wanted to use the incredibly popular Daredevil book to get more readers for the undervalued, under-read Power Man and Iron Fist title. They ran multiple house ads for this crossover.
Back in the Daredevil days, there was nothing Frank Miller did wrong. Awesome fun as he meets up with Iron Fist and Power Man.
It’s loosely continued in PMIF #77, but the two issues can really stand alone. And, of course, the DD issue is much better.
Story: Foggy Nelson hires the duo to protect Matt Murdock, and eats their last piece of pizza.
Matt spends most the story trying to get away from them because they are interfering with his work as Daredevil.
Daredevil #178 is a chapter in Elektra story that is one of the best Frank Miller stories of all time. In this specific issue, Kingpin sends a team of killers after Elektra. She kills them, one by one, across four beautiful pages of battle. And when she’s done, there’s a job offer waiting for her.
Power Man and Iron Fist #77, Mary Jo Duffy and Kerry Gammill, is much more kitschy. But then again, that’s half of the fun of this mag.
It picks up at the end of the DD issue, and the three of them meet up with a massively muscled Russian dude and the ballerina/criminal he is protecting.
They’re a duo, Boris and Ninotchka.
This is one of the best stories about the classic Power Man and Iron Fist duo.
