Creator: Peter David
GOAT writer who killed Jeanne DeWolff; turned Hulk into Mr. Fixit during a 12-year run on Incredible Hulk; made Aquaman matter again; rebooted X-Factor and won a GLAAD award for his run, which made Madrox one of the most interesting characters in history; had a terrific run on DC’s Young Justice; and created dozens of superheroes and villains, like: Maestro, Rhapsody, Foreigner, Justice (New Universe), Sin Eater, Spyboy, the Linda Danvers Supergirl version, Spider-Man 2099, and more. He’s also worked on a ton of Star Trek projects.
There are few writers who both as talented and prolific as Peter David.
PUNISHER SUMMER SPECIAL #1 (1991)
In 1992, Marvel published the first of four Punisher Summer Specials, because after all he only was in two regular ongoings and had only three or four one-shots or graphic novels that year. So he needed more exposure.
Lots of good names were attached to the project: Peter David, Pat Mills, Val Mayerik, Jim Palmiotti, Dan Slott…But it was really just mindless (and mind-numbing) violence with nothing to redeem it.
Except the Barbed Wire Gun.
