What’s going on in these issues?
This continues Thanos’ first adventure with the Cosmic Cube. As a character, he’s always trying to grab some shit that don’t belong to him and use it to be all-powerful, mostly to impress Death.
His power levels are approaching infinite. He is kicking Mar-Vell’s ass.
And also Drax’s.
But Captain Marvel shatters the cube, and Thanos is taken by Death, who has still never spoken to Thanos.
But now we know she can laugh at him. Isn’t that the way? You try like Hell to impress a chick and she just laughs at you.
Lots of terrific fights and patented Starlin layouts. Nobody could do “big stories” like him.
Incidentally, issue #33 was written by Steve Englehart, NOT Jim Starlin. Nevertheless, this is one of the best Thanos books of all time.
