Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows. Sadly, this is the first time Dan Slott has really made a misstep in his 5+ years of writing Spidey, so I forgive him—it’s not that the book is bad, it’s just boring. It seems like the whole reason they made it is for the panel above.
I hope, though, that they’re doing it to bring back Power Pack in their original form. I suspect that after Secret Wars is over we will have a bunch of teams and characters that represent everything everyone ever liked about Marvel, and the kid-oriented, kid-friendly Power Pack has been a fan favorite for decades.
Other Grade C Books: Inferno; Infinity Gauntlet; Inhumans: Attilan Rising; Marvel Zombies; Spider Island; Star Lord and Kitty Pryde (this isn’t out yet, but I know where they’re going: SL quits the Gaurdians, Kitty replaces him, and this creative team has bored me on the regular SL book so I’ll sit this one out, thank you very much); Ultimate End (I had high hopes for this one).
Hit next for a better crop of comics….
Grade B: Solid superheroics, fun to read, worth your time if you’re a Marvel Fan…
