Creator: Gerry Conway
Simply put: One of the most important comic book creators of all time. He created dozens of lasting characters (and even more forgotten ones), and wrote at least an issue or two of just about every Marvel Comic of the ’60s and ’70s–with major runs on Amazing Spider-Man (he followed Stan Lee’s initial run, at just 19 years old) and Web Of/Spectacular Spider-Man, The Avengers (a brief run that introduced Squadron Supreme), The Invaders, and Fantastic Four.
Among the most important characters he created at Marvel are Punisher, Ms. Marvel, Dracula, Hammerhead, Werewolf By Night, Hammerhead, Jack O’ Lantern, Man-Thing, and Mockingbird. Over at DC, he created Firestorm, Power Girl, Vixen, and Jason Todd, among others.
