Issues #26 and 27 are basically one long fight against a character called War-Wolf, who is another cyborg created by Major Simon Ryker. Deathlok is damaged in the battle, and issue #28 begins a new arc where he is looking for help repairing himself, and is armed with more conventional weapons.
The art continues to be highly stylized and influenced by Jim Steranko.
But issue #29 is not a Deathlok issue (it reprints the first appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy). So we pick the story back up with issue #30.
Eventually, he meets Godwulf–a tarzan-looking dude with a bow-and-arrow who is also cybernetically augmented, and who has the power to move through time and alternate space. Remember, all these Deathlok appearances happen in an alternate future. I’m only covering these issues because Deathlok eventually comes to the 616.
Anyway, after 10 bi-monthly issues across 2 years, this story still is not resolved. It will be concluded in Marvel Spotlight #33.
There are “Tales of the Watcher” backups as well. Not worth writing about.
