Aunt May also tells Peter that she, too, felt guilty for Ben’s death. I’ve read these issues several times and they still break me.
I love how the JMS/JR Jr run starts with a pretty novel reworking of Spider-Man’s origin and power source, working in totem concepts that really won’t work for any other writer and creating a complex, new mythology and then it immediately jumps to two issues that are just conversation, pure emotion, and as raw and powerful as any comic I’ve ever read.
